This marvellous gem rub is saturated with bright rainbow colours and is from Mintabie, in South Australia is clean with no sand or inclusions. This came from premium rough, mined over 30 years ago and this field is now closed to mining. This is the first time it is being offered for sale. It carries top brightness 5/5, from all angles. The multi-colour pattern carries a beautiful stripe, that transverses from one side of the stone, to the other. It is shown wet to simulate a polish and is only roughly taken there, up to a 600 grit wheel, so many more stages are needed to provided the liquid, mirror like finish we all love, on our gem opals. This will polish well and this material is renowned for being hard and very stable. The finished gem, will last the test of time.
